It’s been some time since our own very first introduction to Modern Square Dancing!

From the beginning we really enjoyed learning to Modern Square Dance. It became one of our favorite things to do for fun. We discovered that it has many benefits from relaxation to inspiration to meeting amazing people.
Calling Modern Square Dancing is a whole other way to experience good health benefits through music, leading, and entertaining too.
“Dancing is like going to the gym
with a book“!
This video, “The Science of Dancing: What Happens in Our Brains When We Dance?” presents a delightful way to explore why the quote above makes sense to us, and how and why music impacts lives in amazing ways.
Music has the remarkable ability to enhance our lives in countless ways. From touching our heartstrings to promoting healing and fostering harmony, music has a profound impact on our well-being. Whether it’s through the joy of dancing, the therapeutic effects of listening, or the communal experience of making music together, the opportunities for music to enrich our lives are truly endless.
“When we began dancing we looked at the dance floor and felt we saw that there were a lot of “old people” out there!
Yet today, many of those same people are still dancing beautifully!
Humbled by our early assumption, we learned that those “old people” were the smoothest and loveliest dancers to share a dance with in a square!
There is no age deterrent to having fun and making friends, we can just get out there, “square up”, and move together to the tunes!”
