  • Teaching and Calling Modern Square Dancing since 1986
  • Current Modern Square Dance Caller for the following clubs (these and all SW Ontario clubs are found under the site drop-down menu): Swinging Duo’s Square Dance Club, Strathroy (Beginner, Mainstream, & Plus Dancing), Silver Streak Squares, Woodstock (Plus Dancing) and Co-Caller at Clinton Wheel’n Dealers Square Dance Club, Clinton (Mainstream & Plus)
  • Member and Caller of Swing’n Wheels C046 Camping Club and Ontario Camporees, a member club of the National Square Dance Campers Association.
  • Attended and participated in the Northeast Caller’s School in Manchester, New Hampshire USA, 2013
  • Participants and supporters of the South Western Ontario Caller’s Clinic. This group is providing learning resources for Dance Leaders and newly interested Dance Leaders. These resources are supporting leaders to continue to improve and enhance skills. Callers Clinic has a mandate of support for increasing overall enjoyment for dancers and other participants.
  • Supporter of Modern Square Dance Caller training, resources, and teaching opportunities through the Canadian Callers College, Jeff Priest, Brantford, Ontario.
  • Participated in the South Western Ontario Square and Round Dance Caller School in Woodstock, Ontario, 2014
  • Attended and participated in the National Square Dance Camporee, Magee Valley, North Carolina, and Tennessee State Convention, Gatlinburg TN, 2014.
  • Volunteers providing entertainment for nursing homes, wheel chair dancing, Relay for Life events, World Youth Days in Delaware, Foreign Student Exchange Programs in Strathroy; a popular caller for wedding, anniversary and business social events.  Has volunteered teaching youth groups, 4-H groups, high school and public school classes.
  • Highlights of volunteering and promoting square dance have involved Dance Demos at County and Town Fairs, Canada Day celebrations and Santa Claus parades, Senior’s Leisure shows, International Plowing Matches, Western Fair (City of London), Corn Fests, and Church Groups

  • Tom & his wife, Linda, Co-Chaired Square and Round Dancers of South Western Ontario (SWOSDA) Executive 2007-08 and SWOSDA Co-Secretary 2008 – 2018. They participated on the planning committee of the 2008 Canadian National Festival in London Ontario. 
    SWOSDA hosted this Festival at the time of holding Co-President terms on SWOSDA Executive.  SWOSDA hosted the Canadian National Square and Round Dance Convention a second time in London Ontario in 2018.  Tom & Linda held position of Co-Secretary for Convention 2018.
  • Returning to SWOSDA Executive in May 2024 Tom & Linda currently hold President Couple and Secretary positions on Executive.
